Committees
Goshen Art League welcomes members and friends of GAL to volunteer for the following committees. We function on a strictly volunteer basis. Your fellow artist cabinet members currently administer all the projects and activities that are on offer. In order to grow and keep up with the exciting opportunities that come our way, we need help planning and executing in many areas, including but not limited to the following:
1. Curators and Assistants:
this committee helps with all aspects of mounting shows and exhibitions, including working with the exhibiting artists and cabinet members in hanging the show and installing labels and printed matter. Curators are our members who have an eye for hanging a show, like to work with fellow artists, and will be liaisons between GAL and the venue for which they are responsible.
2. Art Walk:
this committee will help with any and/or all aspects of planning, installing, and maintaining the Art Walk for June, August, and October. All committee members need not work on all aspects of the Art Walk. This committee can break down into various tasks.
3. Computer Work/Website Maintenance/Social Media/Press/Marketing:
Committee members may work any or all aspects and offer as much or little time as you like. It can be as simple as updating mailing lists or as complex as helping to further develop the website, and everything in between. If you like to write we'd love to have contributions to the website blog about GAL events.
4. Handy People:
We always need help when hanging shows. Or perhaps you wouldn't mind helping another member load their exhibit in or out of a venue. It can be as simple as volunteering to arrive at a reception a half hour early to help set up. And if you don't mind climbing a ladder, or swinging a hammer, or moving tables and chairs around, this may be the committee for you. Many hands make light work!
5. Volunteer Coordinators:
We are also searching for one or two people to help coordinate ALL of the sudden volunteers and committees. If you are detail oriented, organized, a people-person who is patient and would enjoy working as a liaison among general membership, volunteers, and cabinet, this may be the volunteer position for you.
Volunteers may give as much or as little time as you are able to contribute. Non-members are welcome to volunteer in order to test the Art League waters. Feel free to suggest other tasks not listed here and ways to become more involved with Goshen Art League.
Please email the Goshen Art League if you are interested: goshenartleague@gmail.com
